Our Founder's Journey
R Home in Akron is a group home and home health aid provider created by someone who has personally faced homelessness. Living through unstable nights and uncertain days shaped a promise to build a safe, steady place for others on SSI or SSDI.
Our founder understands what it feels like to choose between rent, food, and health needs, and that understanding guides every decision. R Home grew out of a simple belief, housing should feel caring, clean, and truly affordable. Today, that belief becomes real through RuyalCare for every resident who walks through our door.
Our Mission of RuyalCare
Our mission is to make stable, affordable housing possible for people who live on SSI or SSDI and feel left out of traditional rentals. We provide shared living, utilities paid, WiFi, on-site laundry, phone access, and transportation so residents can focus on health and daily life instead of bills.
As a Medicaid enrolled provider with CPR and First Aid certification, we bring safety and care together in one home. We call this RuyalCare, respectful support that treats each resident as family.
Our Caring Team
Our small, family-owned team is present, patient, and hands-on. We listen first, then help residents plan around their real needs, whether that is rides to appointments, reminders for daily tasks, or simple conversation over coffee. Home health aid support is available when needed, which means residents do not have to leave a home-like setting to receive care. Every staff member is guided by our founder's lived experience and by RuyalCare values, dignity, safety, and kindness in every interaction.
